RISING UNEMPLOYMENT IN PAKISTAN

Youth is the valuable asset for any country; it has ability to do any type of work and willing to do any word.Pakistan’s total population is 18 crore out of which an estimated 103 million Pakistanis or 63% of the population falls under the age of 25 years. In Pakistan, an estimated 53% of youth is literate but it has been facing the problem of unemployment. That’s why youth wants to do jobs in other countries such as America, Canada, and Saudi Arabia etc.

According to the ministry of overseas Pakistanis, 7.5 million Pakistani are working in various countries, which is 4% of total population.

Energy crises and instability of government are the major reasons of rising unemployment. Unemployment in Pakistan causes poverty and increase in crime rates. Frustration and tension has increased, which has caused rapid increase in drug addicts in Pakistan.

According to an article of DAWN newspaper, one of a boy named Arshad, who did Bachelor of commerce from University of Karachi with stunning 88% marks. He belongs to a slum area of the city, he tried to get job in private firms and also in government sector but he was rejected with weird reasons. One day because of frustration, he lit his professional degree in front of Press Club. He never lost hope and has started a new life as a self-employed rickshaw driver.

There are many stories like Arshad’s story and many more people with professional degrees searching for jobs. Because of inflation many of them have to start their lives as self-employed workers.

Shame on Zardari’s government, they have failed to give job opportunities to the youth of Pakistan. Now, what steps will be taken by the up coming government? Will they be able to provide job opportunities to the youth of Pakistan or will they still have to immigrate to earn a living???
