Child Trafficking: A Sin.

Child trafficking roots are spreading in Pakistan but most of the victims are from Bangladesh and Afghanistan, where poverty and strife have made it difficult for people to meet their basic needs combine this with illiteracy and unemployment, and you will have people willing to sell their children. As long as there is feudal system in the country, we will have human trafficking and child labor.

Millions of children throughout the country are targets of child trafficking. They are victims of pornography, trafficking and child prostitution. Common reasons cited for this disgusting category of child exploitation is poverty, low status of girls and women, rapid urbanization, break-ups of traditional families and sensational mass media. According to international labor organization (OIC), about 12 millions Pakistani children are forced into child labor, especially in Punjab and KPK.

Karachi and Lahore are considered as the hub of smuggled kids. The mafia exports these children to works as a sex slave for various pubs and bars. In Pakistan, a child of 7 or 8 years is available 24/7 to clean your house, carry your grocery and do other chores, for Rs 2,000/- monthly. Most people carry out worst possible abuse of these children and if the child runs away, false cases of theft are charged on them.

The economic situation that most Pakistanis find themselves in today with the government not doing much and a complete absence of a social safety, what are ordinary people left to do?
